What is Functional Testing?

Functional testing is a comprehensive diagnostic approach that assesses the body's physiological functions to identify imbalances or dysregulations at a functional level.

Unlike traditional diagnostic tests that focus on pathology, functional testing aims to understand how the body's systems are operating and interacting.

This type of testing encompasses various assessments such as hormonal testing, DNA testing, intestinal permeability testing, and complete microbiome mapping.

What can Functional Testing help us with ?

Functional testing is designed to provide insights into a range of health concerns, including:

  • Hormonal Imbalances: Assessing levels and balance of hormones to address issues related to mood, energy, and reproductive health.
  • Genetic Predispositions: Identifying genetic factors that may influence metabolism, nutrient utilisation, and responses to exercise and stress.
  • Gut Health: Analysing the composition of the microbiome to understand the balance of bacteria and assess digestive health.
  • Nutrient Deficiencies: Evaluating the body's ability to absorb and utilise essential nutrients.
  • Inflammatory Markers: Detecting markers of inflammation that may be associated with various health conditions.
  • Immune Function: Assessing the efficiency and responsiveness of the immune system.
  • Digestive Function: Examining how well the digestive system is functioning and identifying potential issues like leaky gut.

In a healthy state, the intestinal lining is naturally semi-permeable, allowing essential micronutrients to pass through tiny junctions into the bloodstream. If you are facing issues with your intestinal function,…
